“Bawumia to Engage with Media in Upcoming Series of Encounters – Akomea”
- Bawumia to meet media soon - Akomea.
- This follows Mahama's media encounter on July 7.
- Bawumia's encounters to allow media and public interaction.
- NPP responds to NDC's media dominance efforts.
Nana Akomea, the Deputy Campaign Chair of the Bawumia campaign team, has assured the media that they will soon have a series of encounters with the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Akomea made this statement on Monday, July 8, during an interview on TV3’s New Day program, in response to a question about the NPP’s plans to engage with the media.
This comes after the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, held a major media encounter in Accra on Sunday, July 7, where he outlined his policy proposals ahead of the general elections. Following Mahama’s encounter, some individuals, including Professor Kobby Mensah of the University of Ghana Business School, called on Dr. Bawumia to also meet with the media and address the nation.
Professor Mensah tweeted, “You TOO come and speak to the media and the nation and field questions.” However, Nana Akomea assured the media that Dr. Bawumia will indeed engage with them soon, saying, “Very soon you will have an encounter or series of media encounters with Bawumia, you are going to get tired of it.”
Akomea’s statement suggests that the NPP is planning a comprehensive media engagement strategy, which will provide the media and the public with ample opportunities to interact with Dr. Bawumia. This move is seen as a response to the NDC’s efforts to dominate the media space and set the agenda for the upcoming elections.
By engaging with the media, Dr. Bawumia will have the opportunity to share his vision and policies with the public, and respond to questions and criticisms from the media and the public. The upcoming media encounters with Dr. Bawumia are expected to be a significant development in the election campaign, and will provide valuable insights into the NPP’s plans and policies for the country.
