The Chefs Association of Ghana has officially disavowed any association with Chef Smith, stating he is not a registered member of their organization.
This declaration, made by the Association’s General Secretary, Peter Agbovi, comes amidst mounting criticism of Chef Smith following his controversial claim of a world title after a cook-a-thon challenge.
“While Chef Smith is recognized as a professional chef, he is not registered with the Chefs Association of Ghana,” explained Agbovi. The Association became aware of Chef Smith’s activities through social media, particularly noting their logo displayed on his attire, which raised concerns.
Agbovi further clarified that despite attempts to encourage Chef Smith to register with the Association, he remained unaffiliated. Regarding the purported Guinness World Records certificate, Agbovi expressed dismay, labeling it as fake and emphasizing the importance of authenticity in culinary achievements.
“In light of these circumstances, Chef Smith cannot assert membership with our Association,” emphasized Agbovi, highlighting the necessity for proper registration and adherence to guidelines within the culinary profession.
