MTN Ghana convened its 6th annual Ethics and Fraud Awareness Forum at their Accra headquarters, bringing together over 60 vendors, suppliers, and business partners.

The forum emphasized “Building Trust: Integrity in Vendor Relationships and Responsible Business Practices.”

Aligning with Sustainable Practices:

  • Adwoa Wiafe, Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, led a session on MTN’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.
  • She highlighted the importance of integrating sustainability and social responsibility into business practices. Wiafe encouraged participants to embrace ESG principles for a future that benefits everyone and fosters stronger organizational integrity.

Protecting Data and Preventing Fraud:

  • The forum addressed data privacy and protection with a presentation by Ronald Darkwah, Privacy and Data Protection Specialist. Darkwah emphasized the critical role of data security in building trust with partners and customers.
  • Linda Asamoah, Proactive Fraud Analyst, discussed the importance of ongoing training in fraud identification and prevention. She stressed the need for collaboration to enforce zero tolerance for bribery and corruption across MTN’s ecosystem. Asamoah encouraged participants to utilize MTN’s whistleblowing channel to report any concerns.

Building a Fair and Ethical Business Environment:

  • Abdallah Ibrahim, Acting Chief Human Resources Officer, spoke about maintaining high employee standards and fostering fair, safe workplaces. He pledged MTN’s support through initiatives and policies aimed at strengthening employer-employee relationships.
  • Emelia Asiedu Attoh, Senior Manager for Ethics, emphasized that trust is the cornerstone of business sustainability. Attoh urged participants to commit to ethical business practices and support MTN’s ongoing dedication to ethical operations.
