An anonymous email alleging sabotage of Lewis Hamilton’s car within the Mercedes team has been investigated by police, with no criminal offenses found.

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff reported the email, which was circulated to him, other F1 figures, and media members.

The email claimed the team was deliberately hindering Hamilton’s performance due to his planned move to Ferrari in 2025.

Wolff vehemently denied the accusations, calling them “mad,” and emphasized his commitment to working successfully with Hamilton through the remainder of his Mercedes contract.

Police, while finding no criminal activity, offered advice to Mercedes regarding any similar future incidents.

The source of the email remains unknown, and Wolff believes it did not originate from within the team.

Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur, a close colleague of Wolff, also dismissed the claims as “completely irrational.” He emphasized the immense effort invested by both teams to succeed and the absurdity of sabotaging a driver.
