Veteran defender Ashley Young has committed his future to Everton for another year, signing a one-year contract extension.

Talks to bolster their attack are also progressing well, with negotiations for Senegalese forward Iliman Ndiaye nearing completion.

Young, who turns 39 next month, joined Everton last summer on a one-year deal. He impressed with his experience and versatility, making 34 appearances in their 15th-place finish.

Ndiaye, a 24-year-old Senegal international, could be the Toffees’ third summer signing after winger Jack Harrison and midfielder Tim Iroegbunam.

Last season, he found the net four times in 46 games for Marseille, who reportedly are close to finalizing a transfer agreement with Everton.

Young’s decorated career boasts a Premier League title, a Serie A crown, an FA Cup win, and a Europa League trophy, all collected across a remarkable 21-year professional journey. He also represented England on 39 occasions.

“It was an easy decision for me,” said Young, emphasizing his passion for the club and his unwavering desire to contribute. “Despite some challenges last season, I truly believe in the potential of this team.”

He jokingly added, “Age is just a number. I’m still driven and hungry to succeed. In fact, I might even be fitter now than when I was 21!”

This extension follows a similar move earlier this month, where Everton captain Seamus Coleman (35) secured his contract until June 2025.
