The proposed Second Chamber of Parliament will comprise representatives from various sectors, including faith-based organisations, traditional authorities, professional bodies, gender-based organisations, the private sector, labour unions, and people with disabilities.

This diverse representation will ensure that the voices and concerns of all Ghanaians are heard and addressed, fostering a sense of national unity and shared ownership in the country’s development. Kyerematen explained that the Council of State, which has been criticized for its limited representation and advisory role, will be abolished and replaced with the new Second Chamber of Parliament.

The new chamber will have the power to legislate and hold the executive arm of government accountable, ensuring a more balanced and effective governance structure. Kyerematen’s vision for an all-inclusive government has been welcomed by many, who see it as a step towards a more representative and accountable democracy that truly serves the people of Ghana. The proposed Second Chamber of Parliament is expected to become a model for inclusive governance in Africa, showcasing Ghana’s commitment to democracy, representation, and the principles of social justice.
