“Godfred Dame: Allegations Against Me in Ato Forson Trial Have Fallen Apart”
- Godfred Dame clears himself of allegations in Ato Forson case.
- Audio recording admitted as evidence in High Court.
- Judge rules out influence or interference by Dame.
- Ato Forson and Richard Jakpa accused of causing financial loss.
Attorney-General Godfred Dame has declared that allegations made against him by the accused in the Ato Forson case have been disproven. The High Court admitted an audio recording of a conversation between Dame and the third accused, Richard Jakpa, as evidence on June 13.
However, the trial judge, Justice Efia Serwah Asare-Botwey, ruled that the recording did not show any influence by Dame on Jakpa to testify against Ato Forson. Dame addressed a town hall meeting in the UK, urging Ghanaians to resist the “lies, deceptions, and deceits” of the NDC.
He shared a personal anecdote about his brother in London, who overheard a barber shop conversation about the Attorney-General. Dame claimed that the NDC’s case against him has “crumbled” and “fallen in water”. He emphasized the importance of resisting the NDC’s deception and lies about the government’s actions.
Dame expressed confidence in the outcome of the case, citing the audio recording as evidence. He praised the President’s leadership and commitment to truth and justice. The Attorney-General’s comments were met with applause and support from the audience.
The Ato Forson case has been a highly publicized and controversial issue in Ghanaian politics. Dame’s statement is seen as a strong response to the allegations made against him and a testament to his commitment to upholding the law.
