The Minister for the Interior, Henry Quartey, has taken decisive action to maintain peace and order in the Chereponi Township and its environs in the North East Region. Through an Executive Instrument, the Minister has renewed the curfew hours for the area, effective Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

The curfew hours will start from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am, and it is imperative that all residents and visitors adhere to this directive to ensure their safety and the maintenance of law and order.

The government is deeply concerned about the recent clashes that occurred in the area and is working tirelessly to resolve the issues and ensure lasting peace. To achieve this, the government is urging Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and people of the area to exercise restraint and use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.

In a related development, the Minister for the Interior has also renewed the curfew hours for Saboba Township and its environs in the Northern Region from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am effective, Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
