A seven-month-pregnant woman and her husband are seeking justice after a harrowing attack by six armed robbers in Gambaga, East Mamprusi District, Northern Region.
The couple, returning from a hospital visit in Nalerigu, was ambushed on the Gambaga-Dagbireboare Road.
The attackers took turns assaulting the woman, leaving her in severe distress, and brutally beat her husband before stealing their mobile phones and motorbike.
The woman’s grandfather confirmed the trauma in an interview with journalists, noting that she had to be rushed back to the hospital and initially struggled to walk, though she is now recovering.
The family and community are frustrated with the lack of police action, as no arrests have been made and the road’s poor condition has led to repeated incidents of robbery without any effective measures to address the issue.
