Transfer of Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City

The 26-year-old Netherlands international has joined Manchester City from AC Milan, where he spent the past two seasons.

Reijnders is a dynamic and versatile midfielder, equally effective in attacking or defensive roles. He was named Serie A’s Best Midfielder for the 2024/25 season.

This honor followed an impressive campaign in which he scored 15 goals in 54 appearances—more than twice his previous single-season best.

Known for his ability to pick precise passes, make powerful runs, and shoot from distance, Reijnders has showcased a well-rounded skill set in one of Europe’s most challenging leagues.

He began his professional career at PEC Zwolle in the Netherlands before establishing himself at AZ Alkmaar. Since breaking through at AZ in 2020/21, he has gained significant experience at both club and international levels. Reijnders is now eligible to play in this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup in the USA.

“I’m thrilled to sign for Manchester City,” Reijnders said.

“City is one of the biggest clubs in the world, with the best coach, world-class players, and top-notch facilities. Under Pep Guardiola, the club has won numerous titles, and I want to contribute to continuing that success in the years ahead.

“Playing in the Premier League is a dream come true. This league has seen many great Dutch players over the years, and it’s inspiring to follow in their footsteps. I’m really looking forward to getting started, meeting my teammates, and showing the Manchester City fans what I can bring to the team.”
