Technical University for Bono East

- Technical University planned for Bono East to support regional development
- Government to upgrade Kintampo University facilities
- Stakeholders called to support security and business-friendly environment
The Bono East Regional Minister, Francis Owusu Antwi, has revealed that plans are well underway to establish a Technical University in the region.
According to Mr. Antwi, the proposed university will help produce the innovative human capital needed to drive the region’s socio-economic transformation.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Techiman during the maiden medium-term development plan meeting of the Bono East Regional Coordinating Council, the Minister highlighted the need for technical and innovation-driven skills to unlock the region’s economic potential and boost job creation.
“The world is evolving, and the labour market now demands innovative skills to support development,” he said, reaffirming the government’s commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure. He also noted that facilities at the Kintampo University for Allied Sciences and Wellbeing will be upgraded.
Mr. Antwi called on Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the region to adopt innovative strategies to boost their Internally Generated Funds (IGF) and invest in infrastructure development.
He further appealed for stakeholder support in improving regional security and fostering a business-friendly environment.
