A man has been shot and killed by unidentified assailants in Odomi, a farming community within the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region.
The incident was confirmed to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) by Juliana Awasan, Assembly Member for the Keri Electoral Area, during a phone interview.
She reported that both the military and police were promptly informed and responded quickly to retrieve the body from the scene.
According to a local source, the victim was ambushed and fatally shot while harvesting yams on his farm. The incident has heightened security concerns in the area, prompting authorities to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing.
The motive for the attack remains unknown, but security agencies are actively working to identify those responsible and ensure they are brought to justice.
