Ghana’s Presidential Jet Nears Completion of Maintenance

The Ministry of Defence has announced that Ghana’s Presidential jet is undergoing final maintenance checks in France before its return to the country.

According to the Ministry, the final phase of the maintenance includes a fuel tank leak test, a third engine ground run, repainting of the lower wing panel, and an acceptance flight test.

These procedures follow the repair of fuel leakages detected in the right-hand wing tank and the restoration of corroded sections—issues that had delayed the completion of the overall inspection.

Addressing Parliament, Deputy Minister for Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi, assured that the aircraft would be returned to Ghana once all required tests are completed and it has been declared airworthy.

“The Falcon 900 executive jet was sent to Falcon Services in France on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, for a routine inspection. During the process, corrosion spots were identified, which affected the initial delivery timeline. Extensive repairs have since been carried out. Additionally, fuel leakages were discovered in the right-hand wing tank, and after fixing those, other minor issues emerged, causing further delays. The necessary repairs have now been completed, and the aircraft will undergo final leak testing and inspection before an acceptance flight. Once this is done, it will be returned to Ghana,” he explained.
