Fire Erupts at Accra Tourist Information Centre

A significant fire broke out at the Accra Tourist Information Centre in the early hours of Monday, prompting a rapid response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).

The GNFS reported that the fire was first logged at exactly 1:02 a.m., with the first fire engine from the National Headquarters arriving on-site just two minutes later.

Reinforcements were quickly deployed from fire stations at Flagstaff House, Circle, Accra City, and the Ministries, along with a Rapid Intervention Vehicle from the headquarters.

Firefighters battled the blaze for over two hours, successfully containing it by 3:32 a.m.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported. Fire personnel remained on-site to carry out mop-up operations, ensuring all hotspots were extinguished and surrounding properties were protected.

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and investigations are expected to begin soon.
