The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, has undertaken a working visit to the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant in the Western Region to review ongoing maintenance activities.
During the visit, the Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress of the work and commended the engineers and technical staff for their commitment. He urged them to sustain the momentum to ensure the project is completed within the planned timeline.
The Atuabo Gas Infrastructure Project, a vital part of Ghana’s energy sector, is currently undergoing a scheduled shutdown aimed at improving production efficiency and increasing processing capacity. Once completed, the plant’s output is expected to rise from 100 million to 120 million standard cubic feet (mmscf) of gas per day.
Minister Jinapor reaffirmed the government’s support for the project, stressing the commitment of both President John Dramani Mahama and the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition. He underscored the plant’s strategic role in enhancing Ghana’s energy security and promoting industrial development.
Officials noted that the ongoing upgrade marks a major step toward meeting the nation’s growing demand for natural gas and providing a more stable energy supply for homes and businesses.
