The Deputy Chief Imam of the Ahafo Region, Alhaji Mohammed Unus, has voiced confidence that the government will substantially accelerate development in the region by 2026 to tackle long-standing challenges. He made these comments in Goaso while hosting a delegation of imams for special prayers for the nation.
In an interview with Adom News, Alhaji Unus noted that the return of President John Dramani Mahama has already led to some visible improvements in the region.
He pointed to ongoing projects such as the Tepa–Mabang–Goaso highway, the commissioning of a passport application centre, and the construction of classroom blocks for selected Islamic schools as evidence of progress.
The Deputy Chief Imam revealed that information available to him suggests more development projects have been planned for the region this year to enhance living conditions and resolve persistent difficulties faced by residents. He praised the Regional Minister, Members of Parliament, traditional authorities, and other stakeholders for their commitment to ensuring Ahafo receives its rightful share of national development.
Alhaji Unus also called on national leaders to place the well-being of the people first, stressing that leaders will ultimately be held accountable by Allah for their actions and dedication to development.
