Delta Launches Accra–Atlanta Route, Boosting Ghana Tourism

In a significant boost to Ghana’s tourism sector, the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has welcomed Delta Air Lines’ new Accra–Atlanta seasonal service, describing it as a strong endorsement of the country’s growing global appeal.

Speaking to dignitaries, partners, and industry stakeholders at the launch ceremony, GTA CEO Maame Efua Houadjeto called the new route “more than an aviation milestone,” emphasizing that it reinforces the historic connection between Ghana and the African diaspora.

According to her, Delta’s renewed commitment highlights Ghana’s rising status as a global hub. She added that the service goes beyond transporting passengers—it reconnects families, strengthens cultural ties, and expands opportunities for international engagement.

Mrs. Houadjeto assured that the GTA is fully prepared to welcome thousands of visitors during the festive season, declaring, “Ghana is ready, steady, and open to the world.”

Mrs. Houadjeto emphasized that the GTA is collaborating closely with security services, airport authorities, and immigration officials to ensure a smooth and memorable experience for all travelers. “Hospitality is not an industry in Ghana—it is who we are,” she said, urging Ghanaians and the diaspora to celebrate the season with unity and pride.
