Children’s Support Fund Raises Over GH₵7.2 Million for Helicopter Crash Victims’ Families

The Children’s Support Fund, established to provide long-term support for the children of those who perished in the tragic August 6 helicopter crash, has so far raised GH₵7,292,135 and US$20,000, according to an official update.
The latest contributions were received between September 12 and 24, 2025, with donations coming from a mix of corporate bodies, state institutions, and private individuals.
Notable corporate contributors include:
- Risk Management Ltd.
- Federated Commodities
- Willbeck Consult
- Sida Global Logistics & Engineering Ltd.
- Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod)
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Prominent individual donors also include Accra Metropolitan Chief Executive Michael Kpakpo Allotey, and Dr. Li & Chen Guo Wei.
Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, Senior Presidential Advisor and Coordinator of the Fund, expressed deep appreciation to all donors, emphasizing that every contribution supports the education, healthcare, and overall welfare of the children left behind.
She also encouraged continued support, reminding the public that donations remain open. Contributions can be made via:
- Stanbic Bank Ghana Ltd. (Stanbic Heights Branch) – both in cedis and USD
- Cheques and bank drafts
- Mobile money platforms
The August 6 crash, which claimed eight lives—including five government officials and three military officers—sparked a nationwide wave of grief and solidarity.
