Ghana’s Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, has identified England as the favourites to top Group L following the 2026 FIFA World Cup draw.

The senior national team were drawn alongside England, Croatia, and Panama during Friday’s ceremony at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in the United States.

England reached the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup, Croatia made it to the last four in Qatar 2022, while Panama will be making only their second appearance at the global tournament.

“I look forward to every game as special,” Otto Addo told Ghanafa.org. “It’s very important that we don’t underrate any team. For sure, England is the favourite in that group, but as a coach, I’m looking at every match equally.”

The Black Stars are scheduled to open their 2026 campaign against Panama on Wednesday, 17 June, followed by matches against England on 23 June and Croatia on 27 June.

Ghana have exited at the group stage in each of their last two World Cup appearances.
