Kevin-Prince Boateng embraces Christianity

Story Highlights
  • Boateng credits his first church visit as a turning point in his life
  • His wife encouraged him to attend to help him heal emotionally
  • Initially hesitant and doubtful, he felt God’s presence upon entering

Former Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng has shared the transformative experience that led him to embrace Christianity, describing how it all began the very first time he set foot in a church.

Boateng revealed that, long before they became a couple, his wife felt spiritually guided to help him heal from years of emotional pain. She invited him to church, believing it would be the first step toward his restoration.

He admitted that entering the church for the first time felt unfamiliar and intimidating, and he almost turned back, battling with doubt.

“I kept telling myself, ‘Don’t go. Tell her you’re sick.’ So many voices were in my head. I was standing outside, watching people go in with their Bibles, thinking, ‘What am I doing here? I can’t do this,’” he recalled.

But once he stepped inside, everything changed. He immediately felt God’s presence.

“After about five minutes, I don’t know what happened… something inside me just stirred. I stood up, lifted my hands, and started crying. The spirit hit me with so much conviction, and I felt deep remorse. That was the moment I decided to give my life to God,” he said.

He added that, despite his tattoos and past lifestyle, he has learned to fully surrender to God’s will and redirect his life according to His guidance.
