Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges of rape and sexual assault involving three women.
Appearing at Southwark Crown Court, the Ghanaian international denied five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. The alleged incidents are said to have occurred between 2021 and 2022, during his time in the Premier League.
The 32-year-old was formally charged just four days after departing Arsenal, following the expiry of his contract in late June.
During the court appearance, Mr. Partey confirmed his identity and entered not guilty pleas to all charges. He was granted bail until his trial, which is scheduled to begin at the same court on 2 November 2026.
Partey, who now plays for Spanish club Villarreal, was already in the UK as his team faced Tottenham Hotspur in a Champions League fixture on Tuesday. He appeared as a substitute in the match, which ended in a 1–0 defeat.
Under the terms of his bail, Partey is allowed to continue playing football but must inform police of any international travel at least 24 hours in advance and is prohibited from contacting the complainants.
