Black Queens to Compete in UAE’s Pink Ladies Tournament Ahead of WAFCON 2026

The Black Queens will take part in the Pink Ladies tournament in the United Arab Emirates as part of their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
Scheduled from February 28 to March 6, the tournament will provide the team with a competitive platform to refine tactics and assess player readiness. Teams expected to participate include Russia, Hong Kong, and Tanzania.
Coach Kim Lars Björkegren intends to use the tournament to evaluate both seasoned players and emerging talents as he finalizes the squad for the continental championship. The event will also expose the team to a variety of playing styles and high-intensity match situations.
The Black Queens are set to depart for the UAE soon, with the official squad list to be announced in the coming days.
