Otumfuo Invites Mahama to Asantehemaa’s Funeral

- Otumfuo invites former President Mahama to final funeral rites

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has formally invited President John Dramani Mahama to attend the final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
A statement from the Presidency confirmed that the funeral will be held at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi from September 15 to 18, 2025.
The invitation was personally delivered to President Mahama in Accra by a distinguished delegation led by the Amoamanhene, Nana Agyenim Boateng I.
President Mahama, in response, extended his heartfelt condolences to the Asantehene and the people of the Ashanti Kingdom, describing Nana Konadu Yiadom III’s passing as a significant loss.
He assured the delegation of his attendance at the funeral to pay his respects to the late Queen Mother.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III, aged 98, passed away on August 7, 2025.
