Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim has called on the club’s supporters to forgive midfielder Justice Blay following backlash over comments he made in a recent interview.
Blay, who parted ways with the Porcupine Warriors at the end of the 2024/25 season, stirred controversy after claiming in a radio interview that some of his former teammates were involved in smoking and acts of disloyalty.

Speaking to Akoma FM, Danlad—who played alongside Blay at Kotoko—chose not to directly address the claims but instead appealed for calm and unity.
“I won’t dwell on what Justice Blay said about the club,” Danlad stated. “But I want to use this platform to ask the Kotoko family to forgive my brother.”
Now playing for Ethiopian Coffee SC, Danlad acknowledged Blay’s dedication during his time at Kotoko and encouraged fans to show compassion.
“He has already apologized. Let’s forgive him,” Danlad added. “He served Kotoko wholeheartedly, and that should count for something.”
Justice Blay has since issued a public apology, expressing deep remorse for his comments.Danlad Ibrahim Pleads for Forgiveness for Justice Blay
