Black Queens Set For Key Friendlies In Morocco Ahead Of 2024 WAFCON

- Black Queens to play three friendlies in Morocco against Malawi, Botswana, and Nigeria
- Final WAFCON warm-up matches before Group C campaign begins
- Ghana returns to WAFCON for the first time since 2018
Ghana’s Black Queens will step up their final preparations for the upcoming 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with three international friendlies in Morocco.
The team, currently in camp for pre-tournament training, will face Malawi, Botswana, and long-time rivals Nigeria as part of their warm-up schedule ahead of next month’s tournament.
Per the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the friendly matches are scheduled as follows:
- Malawi – Saturday, June 21
- Botswana – Wednesday, June 25
- Nigeria – Saturday, June 29
Both Botswana and Nigeria have qualified for WAFCON and are placed in Group B alongside Tunisia and Algeria.
Before heading to Morocco, head coach Kim Lars Björkegren’s squad played friendly matches against Ivory Coast and Senegal as part of their build-up.
Ghana returns to the continental stage for the first time since 2018, and will compete in Group C with South Africa, Mali, and Tanzania.
The 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations is set to take place in Morocco from July 5 to July 26.
