- Nyaho-Tamakloe says Bawumia is not his own man.
- He urges Mahama to prosecute corruption if elected.
Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called for corrupt officials in the Akufo-Addo government to face legal consequences. He emphasized the importance of the December general elections and warned against attempts to overturn the results.
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe criticized Alan Kyerematen, a presidential candidate, for serving in President Akufo-Addo’s second term, which he believes hurt his chances of winning the election. He questioned Kyerematen’s message to the people, given his involvement in the current government.
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe also expressed disappointment in Dr. Muhammadu Bawumia, saying he is not his own man and was influenced by others in his choice of running mate. He recalled a statement made by Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, which caused a stir in the country, and suggested that Bawumia should have replaced him as his running mate.
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe urged John Mahama, the NDC flagbearer, to prosecute corrupt acts of the Akufo-Addo-led government if he wins power. He warned that failure to address corruption and looting of resources would make Mahama the most hated and unpopular leader in the country.
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe also cautioned against attempts to subvert the will of the people, particularly in the Ashanti Region, which has traditionally been an NPP stronghold. He warned that the people will vote based on their economic situation and that anyone attempting to overturn the decision of the people will face consequences.
