The result was officially announced by Electoral Commission officials at the UDS Guest House in Accra on September 7, 2024.

During the party’s congress, which aimed to elect national executives in preparation for the December general elections, Mornah won decisively with 1,138 votes, while his rival, David Apasera, received 216 votes.

In his victory speech, Mornah reached out to Apasera, advocating for a united front to enhance the party’s prospects in the upcoming elections. He underscored the importance of unity for the PNC to gain political traction.

The congress experienced a brief delay due to an injunction from Apasera’s team but continued smoothly after the issue was resolved.
