Yaw Tog Clears Asakaa Group Rumors

Ghanaian hip-hop artist Yaw Tog has addressed ongoing rumors about his connection to the popular drill group, the Asakaa Boys.

In an interview on Cruise Control on Hitz FM, the ‘Sore’ hitmaker expressed surprise over persistent claims that he was part of the group, stating that his association with them was purely collaborative.

“I went to their studio to make music, and after that, I returned to focus on myself,” he told host Kofi Hayford. “I don’t understand why Ghanaians assumed we were a group.”

His comments come in response to renewed online discussions suggesting he distanced himself from the group after rising to fame. While Yaw Tog acknowledges the impact the Asakaa Boys had during his early days, he firmly maintains that he has always been a solo artist focused on building his own brand.

He further shared that his solo journey has been one of growth and self-discovery. This evolution is reflected in his newly released 7-track EP, Tog City, launched on October 17. The project features collaborations with Stonebwoy, Darkovibes, and The Man Sudais.

Tog City blends genres such as drill and Afrobeats, showcasing Yaw Tog’s versatility and artistic maturity as he continues to shape his unique sound and identity in the music industry.
