Supporters of dancehall artist Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, gathered at the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) on Thursday to demand his release following his arrest over alleged tax compliance issues.

EOCO officials confirmed that Shatta Wale has been granted bail set at GH₵10 million, with two sureties required and to be justified, pending full legal compliance.

In a social media video, his media manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah (aka Sammy Flex), stated that the artist’s legal team and management are actively working to meet the bail conditions. He also addressed circulating rumors, clarifying that the EOCO investigation is focused solely on tax concerns related to Shatta Wale’s yellow Lamborghini and elements of his business dealings—not other claims being speculated online.

Shatta Wale was taken into custody on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, as part of EOCO’s wider probe into tax obligations tied to luxury vehicles.
