Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has publicly apologised to MC Kojo Manuel following an unexpected scuffle on stage during his performance at the Tidal Rave festival.
The incident occurred shortly after Kojo Manuel introduced Shatta Wale. Instead of leaving the stage, the MC stayed on to vibe and perform alongside the artiste.
Shatta Wale’s personal assistant, Abongo, intervened and forcefully pushed Manuel off the stage, a move that sparked mixed reactions among fans and industry observers.
Taking to social media, Shatta Wale expressed regret over the incident and reassured Kojo Manuel that there was no ill intent.
“Kojo Manuel, so sorryyy… but hey, Abongo is the nicest person ever. When it comes to my work, all my team members bow because he is my second in command. Sorry he pushed you, but next time just know that when an artiste and team step on stage, I beg you, ok,” he wrote.
Shatta Wale also explained that his grand stage entry had been pre-arranged with DJ Vyrusky, and any deviation disrupted the timing and discipline his team follows.
He emphasised that he did not condone the actions of either party but hoped the incident would serve as a learning experience for everyone involved.
“This is how we can all learn and not fight ourselves to show the world. I don’t support what he did, neither you, but let’s learn from this peaceful letter I have written just to say a big sorry to you and your team,” he added.
Kojo Manuel has not yet responded publicly to the apology.
