Breakout Afrobeats star Olivetheboy has revealed that his relationship with love is far more complicated than many fans assume.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, the Goodsin hitmaker admitted that, despite being widely seen as a romantic, real-life love has been difficult for him.
“I don’t think anyone can find love. You can find someone, but not love… especially for people like me,” he said, reflecting on his experiences.
Olivetheboy shared that the passion and vulnerability in his songs come from past memories rather than anything happening in his life now. “Most of the love songs I write are not from present time. From Bend to Speedometer and the rest, they’re old experiences,” he said.
He added that he currently isn’t in a relationship and, if he ever finds someone special, he intends to keep it completely private—away from public scrutiny and the pressures that accompany fame.
