Renowned spiritual life coaches McMaine & McKenzie, popularly known as the Mystic Twins, have shared unconventional insights into how men can sustain long-term romantic relationships, blending mysticism and spiritual practices.
In an interview on Joy Prime’s Changes with Roselyn Felli, the duo advised that men propose with a ring shaped like an egg. According to them, this specific shape—regardless of price—has spiritual significance that fosters deeper love and emotional connection within marriage.
“If you’re proposing, choose a diamond ring that looks like an egg. It doesn’t need to be expensive, but it holds spiritual value that strengthens the relationship,” they explained. “Even if she takes it off, she’ll want to wear it again.”
For women who prefer a different ring style, they suggested purchasing both the preferred design and an egg-shaped ring, emphasizing that the latter spiritually anchors the relationship.
Additionally, the Mystic Twins touched on a more controversial practice: couples cooking and consuming the placenta after childbirth. They described this as a deeply bonding ritual with psychological and spiritual benefits.
“It’s not evil, as many Africans believe. If you can accept a menstrual cycle, you should not reject the placenta—it comes from your body,” they argued. “Cooking and eating it with your family symbolizes acceptance and unity. It creates a powerful spiritual connection.”
While not mainstream, the twins claim this practice is observed quietly by some spiritual individuals and couples to reinforce marital bonds.
