Ghana to Host Its First-Ever K-pop Fan Concert in December 2025

Story Highlights
  • Ghana to host its first-ever K-pop fan concert on December 20, 2025
  • Event launches "Jaese Presents," spotlighting Asian music talent in Africa
  • Expected to be West Africa’s biggest K-pop gathering to date

Ghana is set to host its first K-pop Fan Concert on December 20, 2025, marking a major milestone for the country’s growing K-pop community.

The event will also serve as the official launch of “Jaese Presents”—a new live music franchise aimed at showcasing top artists from South Korea, Thailand, Japan, and China to African audiences.

Though this will be the first K-pop concert on Ghanaian soil, it isn’t the genre’s first presence in the country. TVXQ’s U-KNOW YUNHO previously visited Ghana in 2013 as part of the Road for Hope project, leaving a lasting impression.

Anticipated to be the largest K-pop gathering in West Africa, the upcoming event is expected to draw over 1,000 fans, highlighting the region’s passion for the genre. Ghana’s K-pop community, though often overlooked, has consistently demonstrated strong engagement. In 2022, Spotify ranked Ghana as the 5th largest K-pop market in Sub-Saharan Africa, underscoring its rising influence.

Ghana also boasts one of the continent’s most impactful K-pop radio shows, Pop Central on YFM, which has earned recognition from Sony Music K-pop and Kevin Woo of K-pop Demon Hunters.

Jaese—the creative team behind the event—has previously facilitated exclusive interviews with Korean artists like KWON EUN BI and BM, helping bridge the gap between K-pop stars and Ghanaian audiences. Now, with “Jaese Presents,” they aim to further connect Asian artists with African fans through live performances.

The announcement was confirmed by Ella Okunmwendia, music industry professional, K-pop advocate, and team lead at Jaese. Known for championing African market data on platforms like Spotify and Turntable Charts, Ella emphasized the cultural significance of the event.

“This is a moment fans have been waiting for, and we’re excited to see it finally happen,” she said. “To us at Jaese, this is not just a concert — it’s a chance to showcase Ghana and Africa in a positive light. In the words of K-pop star TAEMIN, ‘It’s My Showtime.’”

Additional details, including ticket sales and the artist lineup, will be announced in the coming weeks.
