Celestine Donkor launches Road – Safety Campaign with RSA

Ghanaian gospel artist Celestine Donkor has teamed up with the Road Safety Authority (RSA) to launch a road-safety campaign aimed at curbing the rising number of traffic accidents in Ghana.

As part of the initiative, Donkor will create new music and produce video content to educate the public on the causes of road accidents. She also plans to leverage her public influence to engage communities in activities that promote responsible road use and safer driving practices.

In a statement, she urged drivers to adhere to speed limits and avoid distractions.

“Always wear your seat belt and be patient on the roads,” she advised.

The campaign comes against a troubling backdrop: between January and August 2025, approximately 9,937 people lost their lives in road accidents, averaging six to eight deaths per day in the country.

This is not Donkor’s first social responsibility effort. She has previously led initiatives with a group of female gospel musicians to support sick and elderly veteran artistes, offering assistance and donations discreetly.

A few years ago, she also served as a vaccination ambassador for the Ghana Health Service, using her platform to encourage public confidence in COVID-19 vaccines.

Through this road-safety campaign, Celestine Donkor aims to raise awareness about the impact of everyday choices on Ghanaian roads and encourage citizens to take personal responsibility for safer driving.
