Gideon Okeke Suffers Rash from Nollywood Costume

Actor Gideon Okeke has voiced concerns over hygiene standards on Nollywood epic movie sets after developing a severe skin rash following a recent film shoot.

Okeke, who had just completed work on a traditional-themed production, revealed that the animal skin costumes provided—specifically the tunics—triggered a strong skin reaction.

He blamed the incident on poor hygiene practices within the wardrobe department, alleging that the costumes had been reused several times without proper cleaning or sanitation.

According to him, the lack of basic hygiene not only led to his discomfort but also posed a preventable health risk.

He called on all production departments to take their responsibilities seriously, stressing that every unit contributes to the overall success and safety of a film project.

Okeke’s remarks have since ignited discussions within the Nollywood community, with many echoing the need for improved behind-the-scenes standards to safeguard the well-being of cast and crew members.
