The Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, Dr. Stephen Amoah, has reassured the public that Kennedy Agyapong is handling his defeat in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer election well.

Speaking on JoyNews’ Super Morning Show on Monday, February 2, Dr. Amoah said he was planning to visit Mr. Agyapong and emphasized that the outspoken politician remains in good spirits following the January 31 contest.

“Even this morning, I was tying up a few issues, and I was still planning to see Kennedy Agyapong. By the grace of God, he’s doing perfectly well,” he stated.

Dr. Amoah described Agyapong as a resilient political figure who understands the realities of competitive politics, noting that the defeat has not weakened his resolve or character.

“He’s a politician, and you know the kind of person he is. If you’re close to him, he’s completely different. He’s very fine,” the MP added.

Kennedy Agyapong was among the leading contenders in the NPP’s presidential primary on January 31, in which the party selected its flagbearer ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Dr. Amoah’s remarks come amid widespread public interest in how unsuccessful aspirants are responding, as party leaders continue to call for unity and calm while the NPP prepares for the next phase of its campaign.

The reassurance from the Nhyiaeso MP is expected to ease concerns among party supporters, particularly given the intensity of the flagbearer race, which concluded peacefully.
