Two Killed in Fomena-Adansi Asokwa Road Crash

Two individuals have been confirmed dead following a tragic accident involving an articulator truck transporting cement pipes along the Fomena–Adansi Asokwa road in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region.

The truck, bearing registration number GT 5501-23, was en route from Takoradi to Kumasi when it veered off the road and plunged into a ditch in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to initial reports, the driver lost control, resulting in a crash that claimed the lives of two people on board.

The Fomena District Police, led by DSP Samson Wunyi Mumuni, arrived swiftly at the scene. The bodies of the deceased have been taken to the Adansi Fomena District Hospital mortuary, while investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident.

Local residents, disturbed by the increasing number of accidents along the stretch, are once again calling for enhanced road safety measures. They cite poor visibility and the lack of speed control infrastructure as major contributing factors, describing the area as a notorious accident zone.
