A Form Three student of Islamic Senior High School in Kumasi, identified as Abass, has died after reportedly falling from the top floor of the school’s administration block on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

Abass, a Business student and acting Boys’ Prefect, is said to have fallen during school hours, prompting an immediate response from students and staff.

Sources within the school suggest that he had allegedly been struggling with suicidal thoughts for some time, though school authorities were unaware. Family members—including his mother and uncle—and some students revealed that Abass had previously made comments about harming himself, but they dismissed them as jokes.

He was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Abass has since been buried in accordance with Islamic traditions.
