Seven Arrested in Kasoa for Sanitation Offences

Seven people have been arrested by the sanitation taskforce of the Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly in Kasoa for committing various sanitation-related offences.

The individuals are set to appear in court to face prosecution.

Municipal Chief Executive, Seth Sabba Banini Serwornu, made the announcement during a stakeholder dialogue on sanitation aimed at improving hygiene and cleanliness across the municipality. He cautioned residents against indiscriminate littering, particularly in markets and along main roads, emphasizing that the Assembly will intensify enforcement efforts through its sanitation taskforce.

“We will no longer tolerate the misuse of public spaces. Anyone caught littering will be dealt with according to the law,” he warned.

Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Phillis Naa Koryo, expressed her support for the Assembly’s sanitation initiatives. She revealed plans to work with the Assembly to establish a dedicated refuse disposal site to better manage waste collected from local markets.

In support of the initiative, ASP Emmanuel Amponsah, who supervises the Kasoa Central Business District, assured that the police will actively assist in enforcing sanitation laws and keeping the town’s major streets clean.
