Princess Duncan Receives Honorary Doctorate from Prowess University, USA

Princess Duncan, a rising star in Ghana’s business and humanitarian sectors, has been awarded an honorary doctorate by Prowess University in Delaware, USA.

At a young age, she is already making waves across Africa, serving as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of COA Research and Manufacturing Limited Company, while actively championing peace and unity across national borders.

The prestigious honorary degree was presented to her during the 2025 Africa’s Under 40 CEOs Awards and Summit, held on Saturday, June 28, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

In addition to the doctorate, Princess Duncan was named the Icon of African Economic Advancement 2025—an accolade that solidifies her growing influence on the continent’s leadership and development agenda.

This latest honour further enhances her already remarkable profile, making her one of the youngest female CEOs in Ghana to receive such distinguished international recognition.

The award is widely seen as a continuation of her legacy of leadership, vision, and service.

Princess Duncan is the daughter of Professor Samuel Ato Duncan, a celebrated Ghanaian scientist, philanthropist, and Executive President of COA Research and Manufacturing Company. He also holds the traditional title of Nkosuohemaa of Frante Sekyeredumasi in the Ashanti Region.

Following in her father’s footsteps, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to peacebuilding, public health, and youth empowerment.

Speaking exclusively to Ghanaian journalist Beyoncé Diamond Kpogli after receiving the honour, Dr. Princess Duncan expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organisers of the summit and Prowess University.

“I am deeply honoured by this recognition. It means the world to me,” she said. “Being acknowledged not just for my achievements, but for the values I uphold, is truly humbling.”

She also emphasized that the award is only the beginning of greater things to come.

“This is just a stepping stone,” she added. “We are born to serve humanity, and we will continue on that path until peace reigns again.”

Dr. Duncan used the opportunity to advocate for peace and unity across Africa, stressing that meaningful development cannot happen without stability.

“Without peace, we cannot grow or progress as individuals or as a nation. That’s why ending conflict and embracing unity is so vital. We owe it to ourselves, our future, and generations to come.”

The Africa’s Under 40 CEOs Awards and Summit brought together some of the most innovative and impactful young leaders on the continent. The event celebrated excellence in leadership, entrepreneurship, and social change.

Princess Duncan has long been respected for her unique blend of vision, compassion, and strategic leadership. Whether in boardroom meetings or grassroots initiatives, she continues to lead with purpose, integrity, and dedication to the greater good.
