The Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCO) has restored full power supply to the Sunyani Municipality and nearby communities in the Bono Region after a temporary blackout.

The outage occurred on Tuesday, January 20, when a faulty transformer compelled NEDCO to introduce load shedding in parts of the municipality.

Through a joint effort with the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo), NEDCO engineers repaired the affected transformer, making it possible to restore electricity supply.

Power has since been reinstated to Sunyani and surrounding towns, including Bechem, Duayaw Nkwanta and Tepa. Speaking to Channel One News on Thursday, January 22, the Sunyani Area Manager, Ing. Eugene Odoi Addo, said the team responded promptly to the incident.

“From the moment the problem occurred, our engineers worked tirelessly to resolve it, and by God’s grace, power has been fully restored across Sunyani. We are continuing to monitor the situation,” he said.
