A group of concerned regional presidents from the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) has submitted a formal petition to the Director-General of the National Service Authority (NSA), urging immediate action over delayed dues and the indefinite suspension of national elections.
In the petition dated August 1, 2025, the executives voiced deep frustration over the consistent delays in the release of NASPA dues and National Service (NS) allowances.
They emphasized that the lack of funding is severely affecting operations at both regional and district levels, making it difficult to implement essential welfare programs for service personnel across the country.
“These funds are vital for sustaining regional and district projects, as well as fulfilling our commitments to the personnel we represent. The ongoing silence and lack of transparency are highly unsettling,” the petition stated.
The group also demanded explanations for the continued postponement of NASPA’s national elections and called on the NSA to publish a new election timetable.
After exhausting internal resolution channels, the regional leaders have set a firm deadline: they expect a formal response from the NSA by the close of business on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
The petition was endorsed by NASPA regional presidents representing all 10 traditional regions, including Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, Western, and Northern regions.
Copies of the petition were also forwarded to the NSA Board, Deputy Directors-General, Regional Directors, and NASPA’s National Executive Committee.
