Over 145 retired pastors from the Assemblies of God Church and their spouses benefited from the third free health screening programme organized by the Lordina Foundation on Friday, June 6, 2025.
Held quarterly at the Ringway branch in Accra, the initiative offered vital health consultations and free medications to support the retirees’ well-being.
First Lady Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama launched the programme following a commitment made at a church event in September 2024. The screening involved specialists such as urologists, gynecologists, dietitians, opticians, and general practitioners.
Attendees underwent laboratory tests for key health indicators including blood sugar, Hepatitis B, prostate health, and certain cancers, and received prescribed medications.
Addressing the participants, Mrs. Mahama highlighted that this third screening builds on the success of previous sessions held in November 2024 and March 2025. She encouraged retirees to fully utilize the services and adhere to their treatment plans.
She emphasized that the initiative is part of the Lordina Foundation’s mission to support those who have dedicated their lives to service.
Mrs. Mahama also informed beneficiaries about the upcoming Ghana Medical Trust Fund, known as “Mahama Cares,” urging individuals with chronic non-communicable diseases to register once it launches. The fund aims to cover health needs not fully addressed by the National Health Insurance Scheme and will focus on preventive care at the community level.

Reverend Dr. Harry Insaidoo, President of the Assemblies of God Retired Ministers and Spouses Association, expressed heartfelt gratitude, describing the programme as one of their most significant and exciting moments. He praised the thorough examinations, medication, and health advice provided every three months.
He thanked Mrs. Mahama and President John Mahama, both church members, for their impactful support.
Mrs. Mahama also lauded the medical team for their dedication and thanked the leadership of the Assemblies of God Church, particularly Reverend Benjamin Teye Tettey, Head Pastor of the Ringway Gospel Centre, for generously hosting the quarterly health clinics.
