Kwabena Frimpong Advocates Unity

Kwabena Frimpong, Deputy Director of Protocol of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on supporters of all flagbearer aspirants, aspiring party executives, and other internal election candidates to focus their campaigns on the competence and vision of their preferred contenders as the party heads into internal elections.

Speaking to members of the NPP-UK North London Chapter, Frimpong stressed the importance of fostering a positive, issues-based campaign environment. He warned that divisive tactics—such as personal attacks and insults—could jeopardize party unity and weaken the NPP’s chances in the 2028 general elections.

“The unity of the party after these internal contests will be critical to our success in 2028,” Frimpong said. “If we run campaigns filled with insults and personal grievances, it will be difficult for losing candidates and their supporters to rally behind the winners. That endangers our shared goal.”

While recognizing every member’s right to support their candidate of choice, Frimpong urged all party loyalists to avoid actions that could sow discord. “Let’s promote campaigns that highlight competence and articulate a clear, shared vision for the party’s future. That’s the foundation for building a strong, united front,” he added.

Frimpong’s message comes as a timely reminder to aspirants and their teams that the tone and conduct of their campaigns will significantly impact the NPP’s ability to emerge as a credible, united alternative in the next national elections.

As preparations for internal contests intensify, his remarks underscore the vital role of discipline, cohesion, and forward-thinking leadership in the NPP’s quest to regain political power.
