Justice Pwamang Appointed as Acting CJ

- Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang to act as head of the judiciary for 10 days
- Appointment follows the temporary absence of Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie
- Baffoe-Bonnie, serving as Acting Chief Justice, will be abroad from August 18–28, 2025
Supreme Court Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang has been appointed to temporarily assume the duties of Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie for a period of ten days.
This temporary arrangement is due to the absence of Justice Baffoe-Bonnie, who has been serving as Acting Chief Justice since the suspension of Justice Gertrude Torkornoo in April 2025.
In an official statement, Justice Baffoe-Bonnie announced that he will be out of the country from Monday, August 18, to Thursday, August 28, 2025.
The development was formally communicated through a circular distributed to all justices of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, and High Court, as well as to heads of divisions and administrative units. Copies were also shared with members of the Judicial Council, the General Legal Council, and the Acting Judicial Secretary.
In the circular, Justice Baffoe-Bonnie conveyed his regards and confirmed Justice Pwamang’s role as the judiciary’s acting leader during his absence.
