This September, Ghana’s music, comedy, and traditions will take centre stage in Marseille as the GoldCoastEvent Festival 2025 – Marseille Edition celebrates the richness of Ghanaian culture in one of France’s most vibrant cities.
Set for Friday, 13th September 2025 at 45 Boulevard Frédérick Sauvage, the event aims to strengthen cultural ties between Ghana and the Francophone world, offering a platform for diasporans and locals to connect through shared heritage.
The festival, now a key highlight on the Ghanaian-European cultural calendar, has evolved into a hub for artistic expression, community unity, and diaspora engagement.
A special feature of this year’s event will be the presence of the Nananom Traditional Council of Marseille, honoured guests whose involvement reflects the festival’s dedication to preserving Ghanaian customs abroad.
Attendees can expect a night filled with laughter and nostalgia, headlined by popular Ghanaian comedians Salinko and Quappiah, known for blending humour with social commentary. The event will also spotlight Highlife music, a genre deeply woven into Ghana’s cultural identity.
But the festival is more than just entertainment.
“We’re not just celebrating music and comedy,” said a festival spokesperson. “We’re celebrating our identity—and inviting the world to be part of it.”
Marseille, often referred to as France’s second cultural capital after Paris, offers an ideal backdrop for such a multicultural gathering—welcoming not only Ghanaians but also Francophones and global citizens.
The GoldCoastEvent Festival 2025 promises a vibrant evening of rhythm, culture, and connection, uniting communities in honour of Ghana’s enduring legacy.
