Ghana Police debunks fake news about IGP’s death

The Ghana Police Service has dismissed widespread social media rumours alleging that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has died.

In an official statement, the Service described the claims as completely false, stressing that the IGP is alive, healthy, and fully carrying out his duties.

“We urge our officers, family members, loved ones, and the general public to ignore these reports,” the statement noted.

The Police further cautioned that spreading such “malicious, insensitive, and reckless claims” amounts to disinformation, and anyone responsible will be identified and prosecuted.

The Service also advised the public to remain calm and rely only on credible, official sources for accurate information.
