- Over 1,250 students in Krachi Nchumuru received free school uniforms through GES and the J. Jerry John Foundation
- Many parents in the district struggle to afford proper school attire for their children
- Beneficiary schools include Motoka No. 1 & 2, Gyato, Chayo, Boafre, Chinderi, and Nandi Akura
The Ghana Education Service (GES), in collaboration with the J. Jerry John Foundation, has brought smiles to over 1,250 students in the Krachi Nchumuru district of the Oti Region by distributing free school uniforms.
Speaking to Adom News, Jerry John Yenabi, CEO of the foundation, explained that many parents in the area struggle to provide proper school attire for their children, a gap the foundation aims to fill.
“Krachi Nchumuru is one of the poorest districts in the country. We cannot stand by while children attend school in torn or inadequate clothing,” he said.
The initiative covered several schools, including Motoka No. 1, Motoka No. 2, Gyato, Chayo, Boafre, Chinderi, and Nandi Akura. Jerry John emphasized that while government support is limited, the foundation is committed to assisting vulnerable children in rural communities and encouraging them to stay in school.
So far, the foundation has donated over 1,250 uniforms and is calling on other charitable organizations to support the district, which also faces challenges such as insufficient classrooms, furniture, and access to clean drinking water—all critical for nurturing future leaders.
Parents in the district expressed deep gratitude, noting that the uniform donations have eased financial burdens and allowed their children to attend school with dignity.
