A deadly road accident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday on the Yamoransa–Cape Coast highway, resulting in one death and injuries to 18 others.

The incident happened around 5:30 a.m. when a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter bus (registration CR 624-25) en route to Cape Coast crashed into a stationary Man Diesel truck (registration WR 1546-V) parked near the NDC regional office.

Responders from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) swiftly arrived at the scene, rescuing three individuals who had been trapped inside the severely damaged bus. Unfortunately, one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The injured passengers—18 in total—were taken to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for medical treatment, with injuries ranging from minor to serious.

Eyewitnesses reported that the Man Diesel truck had broken down earlier and remained on the roadside due to a mechanical fault. The Sprinter bus reportedly collided with it while overtaking another vehicle, leading to the tragic crash.
