Farmer Shot Dead by Armed Robbers in Ashanti Region

A farmer, Emmanuel Kwadwo Obeng, was shot and killed by armed robbers at Maame Ama, near Nsokote in the Bosome Freho District of the Ashanti Region.
The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, June 17, 2025, around 2:00 a.m.
The 50-year-old farmer was reportedly shot in the chest and died on the spot.
According to information gathered by Adom News, Mr. Obeng had joined other residents who were rushing to assist a nearby village following reports of a robbery. Unfortunately, he encountered the robbers on the way and was fatally gunned down.
The incident has sparked concern among residents, who are alarmed by the rising wave of armed robberies in the area. They are urging police and authorities to bolster security in the district.
Mr. Obeng’s wife, Akua Baduwuaa, expressed her heartbreak over the loss and shared her distress about caring for their eight children—seven boys and one girl—on her own.
